MID-MAY & ILEYA FESTIVAL

Hello favourite people, it is mid-May and ileya festival is round the corner. In fact, May is about to round-off with our favourite festival, Ileya. It is our favourite festival because our brethren do not fail to gift our homes to their beloved ones.

And so we are grateful to them for patronizing us However, this post is not only about our gratitude to our wise customers. It is also about mid-May and Ileya festival. It is a reminder that we are in the month of May when the rain makes us fully aware of itself. The rains become heavier and the drains fail us in many parts of the country because we clogged them with debris. Thankfully, we at Prindex Properties love to brag that our properties do not suffer such engineering failures.

Therefore, be aware of your safety outside Prindex Properties perimeter. These are the few things you should be aware of as you go about the cities that suffer flooding. Do not say you are too wise or too big to slip into the gutter. Do not trust the wood or bridge across gutters and makeshift bridges because you are not the one maintaining them.

So, first is to drive or walk in the middle of the road. That is why the traffic crawls in flooded areas, all drivers avoid the sides of the roads where drainages are. Because there would be no one to bail you out if any one of your tires slip into the gutters.

Secondly, we should avoid the sides of the roads when we walk because we can not drive our cars through the shop entrances. We have to park our cars safely and walk in. Besides that, with Lagos now charging fees for parking in certain areas, we are stuck with some walking So, you too should walk slightly closer to the cars in the middle of the road. God forbid walking confidently on the sidewalk, only to slip into the gutter because of a lose or corroded slab.

Finally, see if you can avoid those flood-prone areas or restrict your movements this rainy season. Afterall, there are rains that have swept away cars loaded with people in Nigeria. And the beach is not a swimming pool, the tide can change and become very strong any time.

Kindly bear these pointers in mind when you are not in ten metres radius of our thoughtfully chosen locations. Because it is mid-May & Ileya festival is round the corner, it is a period of rejoicing and blessings of the rains. Please do not turn it into a period of pain by taking the next step for granted. Cheers everyone, see you again after the Ileya festival.
